I Could Not Find Something to Show | 2020 | Participatory installation (video-performance, costume and flyer)

I Could Not Find Something to Show / Gösterecek Bir Şey Bulamadım emerged from exploring identity crises that arise between social expectations and inner authenticity. 

In the video, Umut Azad Akkel wears a costume representing his skin and expression and performs a moment of hysteria. The more Akkel fails to meet these expectations, the more unbearable the discomfort becomes.

A looping video, accompanied by an itching sound, plays inside a changing-room-like structure. Facing the audience, the projection appears where their own reflection would normally be.
