The Path | 2026-ongoing | Participatory installation, 6 video-performances and sound

Hide and Seek  is a participatory video installation with accompanying sound work and fog, exploring how traumatic experiences, conflicts, and tensions in interpersonal relationships surface in urban and public space. It examines how these experiences shape our behaviour and our relationship to the city; leading us to hide in certain areas while seeking out or avoiding others.

I evoke this dynamic through the figure of the Cretan labyrinth, where the roles of Theseus and the Minotaur are never fixed and always change. It alludes to Berlin‘s urban structures and its underground, its institutions, its transit tunnels, its underground club and darkroom culture, as a labyrinthine field where these dynamics unfold, and from which the installation‘s own form is directly drawn. I was inspired by places like the darkroom and clubs, which can also function as safe spaces for the queer community, offering anonymity and the possibility of connection, particularly for those who have recently arrived in Berlin in search of community.
